Over the past few months I have developed an intense love for hot cross buns. I don't remember how or where it started but I’ve been picking them up at every opportunity. At every food shop and bakery I found myself gravitating towards to hot cross buns, putting them straight in my basket, and buying them. I even joked about becoming a hot cross bun blogger. Turns out I was only half joking because here I am, ready to share my thoughts and love for hot cross buns, in what I'm titling 'The Hot Cross Bun Chronicles' A series of posts dedicated to hot cross buns!
So, I’ve been gone from this blog for almost the entirely of February. I would explain the reason for this but I’m not too sure myself. Regardless, I feel refreshed and ready for spring. Spring is the season of growth and rebirth, so this is me, stepping out of my winter rut and getting back on top. I also have lots of exciting posts lined up this month, so keep an eye out for them!
Evening coffee has become a part of my routine. Sipping coffee after eating a wholesome meal, it just speaks to my soul, and what better way to invite you into a catch up post, than to invite you into my evening coffee session? Not gonna lie, ‘evening coffee’ was totally inspired by Moose Blood, but anyway, here are some things I've been doing recently.
In 2016 I read a total of 10 books, which is honestly quite a disappointing number. I've grown to adore reading and it feels like I've fallen out of love with literature this past year. 2016 was one of my worst reading years since I started tracking my reading, especially considering I read 33 the year before! I had a lot of trouble finishing books, especially as I was in my final year at University and it was pretty demanding, but it continued even after I graduated!? 2016 was definitely the year of unfinished books; I picked up so many but never managed to finish them. Not sure what happened, but I'm actively trying harder in 2017. The books I read in 2016 could easily be described as okay, so-so, wouldn’t mind if they were used as tinder in a zombie apocalypse. I liked them but didn’t find any new favourites. Here's is a quick round up of the books I did manage to finish.
